The first issue of our newsletter was published in March 1978 and we have attempted and usually failed to issue it every quarter since then. It started as a labour of love and turned, as many things do into a love of labour. Most of the issues have been a success ... in our modest way we term an issue a "success" when the number of calls reviling it are outnumbered by those that don't ... Age mellows and matures: brash adolescence slides gracefully into silver maned statehood. A careful review of our newsletter, thankfully discloses no such decline. But judge for yourself. You can now readily access newsletters past and present, for your education, edification and possible amusement. Just click here. If you would like a free subscription to our Newsletter please click here.
Research is a serious business, and we being serious people much given to navel gazing, have amassed material on the meaning of life, or that part of it filled with real estate. If you would like a little insight into our ramblings through the thickets of real estate please click here.
Every December we survey every office building (> 5,000 ft.²) and industrial property (> 5,000 ft.²) available for rent in St. John's, HRM, Charlottetown, Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton. Every June we undertake the same exercise but restrict the survey to office space in each locality, apart from HRM where we also include industrial property. For a précis of the results click here.
TDP Trends tracks the changes that impact the supply, demand and utilisation of real estate in Atlantic Canada. Demographic, psychographic, migratory, income and wealth distribution, investment, technological, space utilisation and other forces are reshaping the property markets in the region more rapidly and dramatically than ever before. If you would like to keep ahead of this tsunami please click here.
Our Case Studies contain details of actual assignments conducted by our various divisions: valuation, property tax, counselling, brokerage (sales and leasing), Lasercad (space measurement) and the economic intelligence unit (market surveys, site selection, trade area analysis, supply and demand analysis). To see how we while away the time click here.
If you are interested in exploring a professional career in our consulting or brokerage divisions do not apply unless you are enthusiastic, enjoy challenge, variety and the excitement of working with colleagues who are similarly motivated. We take training seriously and expect you to do so too. You will be expected to complete our six year training programme and the University of British Columbia's Bachelor of Business in Real Estate (BBRE) degree. Be warned this regime is not for the faint of heart. On the other hand if you are interested in a career rather than just a job, something that will get you up in the morning with a spring in your step you should click here.
Quality has to be the most misused word in the English language, so we "put our money where our mouth is". Every March and September we ask every client for whom we have undertaken an assignment during the prior six months to rate our performance on a five point scale (poor, fair, average, good, excellent). Then we publish the results, all of them, on this web site. To view them click here.
